Peggy Fleming In 1968, ABC televised the Winter Games live and in color for the first time ever. The enduring image from that coverage will always be of Peggy Fleming’s free-skating program, which won her the gold medal.

Since then, Peggy’s career has included television appearances and commercial endorsements. As an on air analyst for ABC Sports, she has covered national, world, and Olympic competitions.

In January of 1998, on the 30th anniversary of her gold medal, Peggy was diagnosed with breast cancer.
