Medline employees receive a comprehensive compensation program that consists of pay and benefits. With our salary plan, you are eligible for annual salary reviews and promotional opportunities based on performance. With our comprehensive benefits plan, employees choose the benefits that make the most sense for them and their immediate family. Unless otherwise specified, each benefit begins on the first of the month following or coinciding with 60 days of employment. Some benefits may vary by division.
Medline employees choose between multiple Medical options to find the plan that best meets their needs. Employees covered elsewhere may also choose to opt out of the plan all together and receive a share of the savings. Employee’s choices include four national PPO/POS type plans through United Healthcare. We also have a Capital BlueCross HMO plan available to employees in Pennsylvania.
The MetLife Dental plan is offered separately from the Medical coverage, so you may elect one without having to elect the other. The Dental plan provides coverage for preventive, basic and major services.
Includes a comprehensive plan through VSP (Vision Service Plan), which provides Medline employees nationwide with coverage for exams and glasses/contacts. Discounts are also available for other services, like laser correction surgery.
Set aside money on a pre-tax basis for certain un-reimbursed health care expenses, and/or the costs of dependent care (daycare). Each account may defer up to $5,000 per year. You may use the Healthcare Account to pay for vision and hearing care, deductibles, co-payments, and other expenses not covered by a medical and dental plan (subject to IRS approval). Certain child and eldercare expenses are eligible under the Dependent Care account.
Medline offers a 401(k) Plan (tax-deferred payroll deduction savings plan) through Vanguard that helps employees save for retirement. Medline also provides a generous company match on employee contributions. You can choose from a variety of investment funds to invest in.
If you have previously participated in another employer's 401(k) plan, employees may roll their account into this plan. The plan also allows for participant loans.
Eligibility for high school diploma and undergraduate course reimbursement begins the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Eligibility for graduate school reimbursement begins after one year of employment.
Employees also participate in a number of seminars and training programs provided by or through Medline at no cost to the employee. There is no limit on the annual reimbursement Medline will pay.
Medline offers Medline Financial Services, provided by BCU. This non-profit, full-service financial institution offers services very similar to most banking institutions, but normally with more competitive interest rates. Services include, but are not limited to, direct deposit, ATMs, credit cards, checking accounts, savings accounts, auto, person and home equity loans, mortgages, and much more.
Medline automatically provides Group Term life insurance at no cost to their employees. The basic plan pays employee’s beneficiary 1½ times your eligible pay. Medline also provides additional assistance to the surviving family during these trying times.
Employees are also able to purchase additional group term life insurance at competitive rates.
Medline provides this coverage at no cost to all employees (excluding commissioned Sales Reps) following one year of service. The plan is broken down into an insured benefit paid by an insurance company, plus a supplement paid directly by Medline that increases with your length of service with the company. Depending on length of service, then benefit level will vary from 40% to 75% of base pay, subject to limits.
Medline provides this coverage at no cost to all employees following one year of service. LTD replaces 66 2/3% of monthly pay, subject to limits and offsets.
A variety of other voluntary benefits are also available, like Metlaw Hyatt Legal Plan, Long Term Care and Critical Illness Insurance.
Regular full time employees (sales reps excluded) are eligible to receive up to 10 vacation days in employee’s first year of employment. One additional vacation day will be earned after the second year of employment up to a maximum of 19 vacation days.
